Project Description

One of the key challenges in this project was developing a solution that addressed both inadequate drainage and strict weight limitations on the concrete slab. Traditional screeds were not a viable option. Instead, our experienced Remedial Builders team implemented a system using a TPO sheet membrane combined with tapered insulation boards to effectively manage these constraints.

As with many leak issues, there are often multiple sources at play. While it’s common to assume that the waterproofing membrane is solely to blame, our investigation revealed that this was only part of the problem. Through a detailed analysis of the building, we uncovered several additional failure points, including inadequate drainage, compromised external walls and flashings, no cappings or perimetre hobs, and cosmetic architectural elements that allowed water ingress.

By addressing each of these contributing issues, the project was successfully completed, and all leaks were resolved. The building committee played an active role throughout the project and were kept informed with regular weekly updates on progress.
